Deep story: Ampersand (&) was considered the 27th letter of the alphabet, which pronounced as “And per se and”. Everything was going well until around 1835, it was removed from the English alphabet, which made it little confusing because every Alphabet Songs when you reached the WXYZ part, it will say “W, X, Y, and Z”.
However, to this day, the Ampersand (&) was considered a symbol.
