Fun fact about singapore: Singapore is the first and only country to not want independence. It wanted to continue being a part of Malaysia but due to racial issues, they were forced to split apart. The president of Singapore at the time (Lee Kuan yew) even cried on television when the country got its independence at 9th August, 1965.
