my partner is quite self destructive and I got into a relationship with her to help her, now she keeps splitting on me and hating me although not allowing me to leave because of her tendencies - even if I leave everyone I know would know I left her because she's too clingy to leave and she would do something to herself and everyone would blame me. I'm not at fault for what she does but everyone holds a biased view because she's everyone's sweet friend and I don't want to talk to anyone much

im sorry for you and your situation, although even if people will hate you for trying to break up with her you should still do it for the sake of your own health. you should confess to her that your relationship is unhealthy. and what you said about the death anniversary is true, and you're not an asshole; you're just saying the truth. you shouldn't waste your energy on her because why would you help someone who told everyone you suck ( you don't btw ), i know you want to help but you're getting hurt in the process. i don't think she'll actually kill herself if you leave her, tho.. i hope you get well and somehow find out a way so you can all be happy ^^
