#savethepenguin

"Endangered," but it is classified as Vulnerable to extinction on the IUCN Red List. Even though there are still millions of them in the wild, their global numbers have dropped drastically—by nearly 47% over the last few generations. They face several major threats in the wild: Climate Change: Rising sea temperatures alter the distribution and abundance of their food. Food Competition: Industrial commercial fishing for Antarctic krill directly competes with the penguins' primary diet. Invasive Predators: Introduced animals like rats, mice, and feral cats prey heavily on their eggs and young chicks.
