In the beginning there was God alone who dwelt in light beyond all understanding. God created the heavens and the earth and all things that fill them. And God created the angels to stand before Him and serve Him and sing His praises forever. Among these angels was Lucifer the brightest and most beautiful of them all. He was called the Morning Star and he shone with a light like no other. He stood close to God's throne and was given great power and wisdom and honor. For a long time Lucifer served God faithfully and all was well in heaven. But as time passed pride began to grow in Lucifer's heart. He looked at his own beauty and power and began to think that he deserved more than he had. He began to want to be equal to God. He thought that he could rule heaven better than the Creator Himself.
