BlackHole killing a star #blackhole
TDEs happen when a star gets too close to a SMBH and is torn apart by its strong gravitational force, with the black hole devouring the star's mass. In this phenomenon, stars that get too close to these black holes will be flattened and compressed by tidal forces. they will lose orbital energy over a reasonable time, due to the emission of gravitational waves, and eventually merge - resulting in a larger black hole.
