The Konfrontasi (Indonesian for "Confrontation") was an undeclared, armed conflict from 1963 to 1966 that stemmed from Indonesia's opposition to the formation of the Federation of Malaysia. The conflict was characterized by low-intensity jungle warfare primarily on the island of Borneo, but also included airborne and seaborne infiltrations into the Malay Peninsula and Singapore.
