East Germany or The German Democratic Republic or formerly known as the DDR was a nation that existed from 1949 to 1990. It was formed after the collapse of the "no no" Germany in 1945 and the east was conquered and ruled under the Soviet Union while the west was ruled under allied powers (USA,France,UK). It was united with West Germany just months before the collapse of the Soviet Union (now known as Russia) and still remains united today.
