Sigma Male (noun): A slang term used to describe a popular, successful, and independent man who chooses to live his life outside of normal social hierarchies. Often referred to as a "lone wolf," a sigma is seen as equal in status to an "alpha male" but is quiet, self-reliant, and does not care about societal validation or fitting into a group.
