I think they dont want people to steal their hard work

They don't want their hard work being stolen.

People disable remixes when they are scared of someone remixing it several times and unlisting or privating the middle man so they can steal the work without giving credit. But I can't think of why anyone would disable comments other than to ignore criticism.
